Puttur, May 5: The Uppinangady police have recused four cattle—one cow and three calves—that were being illegally transported in a mini goods vehicle near Kuppettu in Uruvalu village. A case has been registered in this regard, and the driver of the vehicle, Jayant Gowda, has been arrested.
Reportedly, Jayant Gowda was assisting a person named Badruddin, also known as Badru, from Kuppettu in transporting the cattle. In an apparent attempt to avoid suspicion, he had seated his young child in the vehicle alongside the animals while transporting them to Badru.

Based on a tip-off from right-wing activists, the police intercepted the vehicle on Sunday. Upon inspection, they discovered the four animals being transported without proper documentation.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered against three individuals in connection with the incident. They also noted that illegal cattle transportation cases are being reported occasionally in the Uppinangady area.
