Kasargod: Udaya Higher Secondary School organises Sports Day

Kasaragod, Oct 6: Udaya Higher Secondary School held its much-anticipated Sports Day on October 5, with great enthusiasm and energy. The event was graced by the chief guest, Dithya Jolly Kuttissery, assistant professor of Law at Kannur University, Manjeshwaram campus.

In her inspiring message, she encouraged the students to "never give up in life and strive hard till you succeed." The event also saw the presence of Jerald Ivan Crasta, the principal, and Fr Santhosh D’Souza, the campus director.

The day began with a beautiful parade by the students, with each house marching in perfect harmony under the leadership of their house captains. The sports lamp, symbolising the spirit of sportsmanship, was ceremoniously handed over to the chief guest by a student, marking the official commencement of the day’s events.

The students participated eagerly in a range of competitions, including running races, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, shot put, and relay races, showcasing their athletic talents and team spirit.

The event was hosted by Fidha and Fasna, with Aleemath Riza delivering the welcome address. Asna introduced the flag bearers, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Anugraha, bringing the day’s celebrations to a close.

The sports day at Udaya Higher Secondary School once again highlighted the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and perseverance among the students.
