Holiday declared for Eid ul-Fitr in DK, Udupi; exams to continue as scheduled

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 10: A public holiday has been declared in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on April 10 in observance of Eid ul-Fitr, which falls on Wednesday. The official orders have been issued by the deputy commissioners' offices of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, with Vijay Kumar HB, the state government under secretary, signing the official order.

Despite the holiday, exams for schools and colleges will proceed as per the schedule. Government offices will be closed. April 11 will be considered a regular working day.

Eid ul-Fitr is one of the most significant festivals for Muslims worldwide, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. It is celebrated with prayers, feasting, and acts of charity within Muslim communities.
