Bantwal, Apr 9: The rural police arrested Abdul Rehman, the accused who forcefully entered a residence and stabbed an individual before fleeing the scene.

Abdul Rehman was captured in Farangipete and subsequently presented in court. The court has remanded him to 15 days of judicial custody.

The victim, Mohammed Rameez (19), was attacked at his home in Pudu, within the jurisdiction of the Bantwal rural police station. Rehman, believed to be the assailant, fled immediately after stabbing Rameez. Following a search operation, the police successfully arrested Rehman. Additionally, the police revealed that Rehman was previously implicated in another stabbing incident in Farangipete.

Rehman harboured an undisclosed financial dispute and enmity with Rameez. Before the assault, he contacted Rameez via phone to confirm his presence at home. Rehman then entered the residence, inflicted two stab wounds on Rameez with the intention to kill, and hastily fled the scene.
