Kundapur’s Dr Shravya S Rao emerges runner-up of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Season 20’

Kundapura, Mar 22: Dr Shravya S Rao from Kundapura has secured the runner-up position in the Zee Kannada reality show, 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa - Season 20'. Despite her busy schedule as a paediatrician and associate professor at Siddaganga Medical College, Tumakuru, Dr Shravya actively pursues her passion for music and singing.

Having displayed her musical talents previously, Dr Shravya won the first prize in the programme 'Ede Tumbi Haduvenu' in 2006 and was the first runner-up in Idea Star Singer Season-2 on the Suvarna TV channel. With over 200 state-level music competitions under her belt, she has earned recognition and accolades in the field.

"My mother, a classical singer, introduced me to Carnatic music. I furthered my musical education under the guidance of Vidwan Mahabaleshwar Bhagwat, alongside pursuing my medical career. I am grateful for the unwavering support of my husband, Dr Karthik, and the management of Siddaganga Medical College, Tumakuru. Singing alongside renowned artistes like S Janaki, Vani Jairam, Gurukiran, and Rajesh Krishnan has been a privilege," shares Dr Shravya.

Dr Shravya obtained her MBBS degree from AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and MD from Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya. Additionally, she has published two research articles in the International Journal of Contemporary Paediatrics.

She is the daughter of K Shrinivas, head of the quality and process department at Manipal Technologies Limited, and Sandhya U, a teacher at Koteshwara Karnataka High School.
