Mangaluru: Srinivasa varsity patron deity's Prana Prathishta, Kalyanotsava on Feb 22 in Valachil

Mangaluru, Feb 19: The Srinivas University under the leadership of its chancellor, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao is organising the Prathishta Mahotsava of Lord Srinivasa at 'Vaikunta' located inside the picturesque and serene Srinivas campus, Valachil.

The celebrations for the prathishta of Lord Srinivasa will commence on February 21 when the Lord will be taken in procession to the newly constructed temple and later the consecration ceremony will commence in the wee hours of the February 22.

On February 22, in the evening, a grand Srinivasa Kalyanotsava is also organised for the devotees.
 












 
Chancellor and president of A Shama Rao Foundation, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao told reporters that Lord Srinivasa's arrival from Tirumala Tirupati from atop the seven hills to the Valachil campus is a momentous occasion.

He emphasised that Lord Srinivasa is not only the lord of any one person or community, but rather the universal deity for all. "His presence is seen as a purifying force, cleansing our atmosphere," he said.

The chancellor urged everyone to attend the programme, highlighting the positive impact of the Pratishthapana ceremony and the continuous chanting of bhajans, sankeerthanas, and recitations of Vishnu Sahasranama, which are essential religious rituals to invoke the blessing of the Lord and make the campus as his abode.

He extended a warm welcome to all, emphasizing that the temple is open to the public for darshana and poojas, both in the morning and evening.
 
The two-day event marks a significant celebration of spirituality and devotion, showcasing a rich tapestry of sacred rituals and cultural festivities. On February 21, in the morning. the programme will commence with solemn ceremonies including the Laxminarayana Homa, Vayusthuthi Punashcharana Havana, Shanthi Prayashchitha Homas, and the recitation of Vishnu Sahasra Namavali.
 
The day will culminate with a vibrant procession of Lord Srinivasa, followed by traditional rituals such as Adhivasahoma and Shayyadhivasa Kalasha Mandala.

As the sun rises on February 22, the festivities continue with the auspicious Gana Homa and Prathishta Prasanna Pooja. The highlight of the day will be the Prathishta ceremony itself, conducted at 7:40 am under the divine Kumbha Lagnam.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness Kalashabhisheka, Vishnu Sahasra nama Havana, Kalpokta Pooja, Dhampathi Pooja, Mantrakshate, and Santharpane, enriching their spirits with the blessings of Lord Srinivasa.

In the evening, as the golden hues of dusk descends upon the horizon, the Srinivasa Kalyanotsava would commence, marking the consummation of divine union at the Godhooli Lagnam. The event would continue well into the night, filled with joyous celebrations and fervent prayers, as devotees rejoice in the divine blessings bestowed upon them.

In the spirit of inclusivity and reverence, the event extends an open invitation to all, inviting attendees to immerse themselves in the divine ambiance and partake in the timeless traditions.
