Bantwal: Lorry transporting sand illegally seized; driver held

Bantwal, Nov 30: The police have seized a lorry illegally transporting sand in Sajeepa of the taluk.

The police conducted this operation while the lorry was Chelur bound from Sajeepa. The total value of the lorry and the sand seized by the police is estimated at Rs 2.05 lacs.



The lorry driver Mohammad Shafi told the police that one Abdul Rahman was involved in sand mining on the Sajeepa stream, and he had loaded the sand into the lorry and sent it.

A case has been registered against the lorry driver who was transporting sand without a license.

    Why Police are catching the driver and harass?INstead they must catch hold of owner.They mostly comeout fine and poor driver looses job or money.
