Moodbidri: Illegal cattle transportation - Two arrested, three escape

Moodbidri, Nov 22: Police here arrested two men accused of illegally transporting cattle at Kukkudakatte, Konaje on Tuesday November 21. The police rescued two cows and two calves during the operation.

The animals were found in the pickup when the police team on rounds under the leadership of police inspector Sandesh intercepted the vehicle that was being driven in a suspicious manner.

The arrested accused are vehicle driver Haider from Venur Nadthikallu and Shailesh Madiwala from Panapila. Farook from Gantalkatte, Nisar and Herald Fernandes from Panapila, fled and managed to escape.

Police produced the arrested duo to Moodbidri court who were remanded to judicial custody. The rescued cattle were handed over to Bajpe byre.
