'Guarantee schemes gimmick to win polls': Minister Cheluvarayaswamy's video surfaces

Bengaluru, Jun 7 (IANS): In an embarrassment to the Congress-led government in Karnataka, a video has surfaced in which Minister for Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy is allegedly heard saying the guarantee schemes are only cheap gimmicks to win elections.

The purported video, which surfaced on Wednesday, contains the footage in which Cheluvarayaswamy says "during elections, attaining power was most important... whether we like it or not, or Siddaramaiah likes it or not, these cheap gimmicks are necessary".

According to sources, the video was filmed before the elections.

In the video, Cheluvarayaswamy states that they have only opposed the freebies earlier and it is discussed at the national level.

"How far could things be given free of cost? The elections and results will assume importance. We have to get the power to carry out work and results become more important, it is not about agreeing on them (freebies)," it can be heard saying in the video.

Meanwhile, Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi said his colleague Cheluvanarayanaswamy "actually wanted to convey one thing but went on to say another thing".

"Irrespective of the minister's statements, the guarantee schemes are being implemented within 15 days of assuming the power. Now, the matter should not arise. The statements would have assumed importance if the party had not implemented guarantee schemes, he stated," he said.

According to a source, the development, however, has caused an embarrassment to the Congress government.

One one state now on freebies... These freebies are part of or replacement for elite plan of universal basic income scheme worldwide, where they control both ruling and opposition, party A or B ? Following somewhere read... "I used to think this was a conspiracy, but “they” kept on showing it is not. How many things from this list are becoming a reality already? Agenda 2030 - is this how we want to live our lives? Will this be our children’s future? - Social and Carbon Credit System - Drones, facial recognition, and movement sensors - Digital Health Passport - Rationing of food and energy - Patent on seeds and restricted access to heirloom food - Abolishment of genders - Strict regulations on medicine and treatments - Universal basic income - Controlled fertility/reproduction - Elimination of cash, CBDC - Rationing of energy and other natural resources - Abolishment of private property - Fourth Industrial Revolution (Big Tech, loT, Al, digital currencies) Do Not Let This Be Our Reality!"

The video even if it is true has no impact on the government as the government has already implemented the guarantees. Congress should be careful while admitting politicians from other parties who come with a malafide intent to harm Congress but desire to enjoy power. Cheluvarayaswamys statement doesn't add CHELUVE to Congress.

Dear all, owners of properties who have let out flat or houses for rent. If your tennant has approached you for RR number for Graha Jyothi, You may have to take legal opinion first or abstain from doing it now. When the tenant registers the meter in his name using your RR number in the app, he becomes the owner of the Electricity Account and premises will be in his name for the future billing .I learnt this today. What are the legal implications in the long run? When this scheme is scrapped or the Govt changes? Its a very dicey situation and has no clarity.

This way only, Congress made loan and BJP is struggling to repay the loan. How it's possible to do fast growth. Because of Congress poor rule and loan, BJP is struggling. Even though BJP is managed without much effect to public. Thats why in the metros Congress did not win. It was only in rural and village areas , they fall for freebies easily.

Irrespective of any political affiliation, we have to be clear and fair . Guys, This is not done! I pity the people from rural and village areas, who voted blindly voted as Siddu and DKS roared ''ಪ್ರೀ ಪ್ರೀ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರೀ,ಪ್ರೀ ಪ್ರೀ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರೀ'!. They are in a state of shock, on Graha Jyothi conditions and also on the Graha Laxmi. Some travelled all the way to Bangalore to register for this crxp and come back dejected. The registration centers are not even staffed .

Not surprising. This is downright Unethical! Or else there is now way a 'safe constituency wala' like Siddu would be the CM along with a 'social worker' of 1400 crore Rs, king DKS. In Bangalore cess charge raised per unit 70 paisa raised.😅. I got the bill today and now its 400Rs more from previously what I was paying. Thats how free free free units have is extracted from consumenrs. I think in 2-3 months people will be fed up and go ahead with life. If you raise your voice you are termed as Bakth.

The rural area people who dont give a xhit about who is ruling and ideologies, but just want to save or make money have voted for freebies. They are now jacked with conditions and non clarity. JDS voters shifted due to the ban on Bajrang Dal promise, that is forgotten. Most of the educated people are aware that its paying into one pocket and taking from another. Its obvious from the constituencies. So nothing new in what this Minister said.

People of Karnataka did not vote to Congress for the promised guarantees and these guarantee schemes are not going make any difference in the lives of citizens who are above poverty line. So the arguement that congress came to power because of guarantees is not true. Eg. costal karnataka did not vote for guarantees

The great fall of BJP's like a pack of cards is not because of freebies of Congress. The Main Reasons / Factors Contributed to a Great Tsunami like Fall of BJP=Brhasta Jumla Paapies and a Landslide Victory of Congress in Karnataka are the Following: 1) Un-Employment increased among the Youths. 2) Rampant Corruption from BJP MLA's. 3) Virtually Nill Developments in the state. 4) Mis-Management, Bad Governance. 5) Dividing Communities in the name of Religion/Faiths. 6) Informing Hindus not to have Businesses with Non-Hindus. 7) 40% Corruption in all Construction/Tenders/ Procurements. 8) BJP Leaders were hoping, after Showing of Chaiwala's Face, people will vote, in fact Karnataka people neglected chaiwala's face and washed the roads wherever he campaigned in cow urine and in cow dung.
