Puttur, Sep 21: A truck hit another truck from behind on National Highway 75 at Nelady on Sunday September 20, following which it rammed into a gas tanker parked on the roadside and overturned. Three vehicles, including the truck carrying a load of liquor, were damaged in the incident. The truck drivers sustained minor injuries.

The incident occurred when the driver of a truck, identified as Shameer, was reportedly travelling from Sakleshpur towards Mangaluru. At Nelady, he allegedly rammed his truck into the rear of a liquor-laden truck belonging to Raja M, a resident of Nelamangala. Due to the impact, the truck went out of control, hit a gas tanker parked on the roadside and overturned.

The vehicles were damaged in the incident, and the liquor consignment was also damaged.

Police from the Nelady station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Based on a complaint filed by truck owner Raja, a case has been registered at the Uppinangady police station.
