Konkani Natak Sabha announces its maiden singing competition in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 6: Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) has announced its 59th singing competition and for the very first time in Mumbai as an added venue.

Considering a long time demand from the Konkani talents of various parts of Mumbai, the KNS made a historical decision in association with Konkan Association Charitable Trust (R), Mumbai. The competition will be held on July 16 at Our Lady of Fathima Church Hall, Vidya Vihar West, Mumbai.







The competition will be held for children and elders separately. In the children's category, there will be only solo competition for the age group of 5 to 10. Children of age group 10 to 15 can participate in solo, duet and mix groups. The age group from 15 to 45 years old will be considered an elder’s category and there will be separate competitions for men and women as solo and duet. Men and women can also participate in mixed group singing. There will be solo competition for men and women for the age category of 45 and above. There will be a duet round for married couples also.

The KNS and Konkan Association Charitable Trust (R) Mumbai have requested the budding talents of Mumbai to participate in the singing competition in large numbers and to be a part of a historic moment.

It was in 1965 that Konkani Natak Sabha started a Konkani singing competition for adults and children. It is still popular to this day attracting a large number of elders, youngsters and children.
