Kundapur: Thousands of fish found dead in Kallagara pond

Kundapur, May 27: Thousands of fish were found dead in a suspicious manner in Kallagara pond under the limits of Kundapur city municipality here.

Public who saw the fishes floating on the water immediately brought the same to the notice of city municipality officials. The officials removed all the dead fishes with the help of civic workers.

Environment engineers, officials of the environment pollution control board visited the spot. The exact reason for the death of fishes is not known. Some fishes have been sent for examination.

The pond has lots of fish and algae is also filled in the pond. It is suspected that poisonous chemicals might have entered the water of the pond.

    The pictures show that the pond is full of fungus/algae; thereby critically reducing the oxygen levels for marine life to survive! In all probability some sewage/effluent water is being drained in the pond!!

    Hot weather ?may be too less oxygen in water can be also the reason.Too many fishes less water and hot?Quite possible some chemical fluid flow in ?Only God can help here.People doesnt understand.
