Bantwal: Accused arrested for slashing youth’s hand over old enmity

Bantwal, May 27: City police arrested an accused who is alleged to have slashed the hand of a youth in connection with old enmity over marriage issue.

The incident occurred on May 20 night at Mundadi. Santhosh, who is known to victim Shivaraj Kulal, is the accused who slashed Shivraj’s hand and escaped from the spot.

Police team led by Bantwal city police station SI Ramakrishna arrested the accused on Friday, May 26.

On May 20 in the night, accused Santhosh called Shivaraj and asked him to a particular spot. Once Shivaraj reached the spot, the accused had a verbal duel on his elder sister’s marriage and swung the sword in an attempt to kill Shivaraj. However, Shivaraj tried to defend with his hand, which got cut in the process.

Crime personnel Rajesh and Irshad also took part in the operation with SI Ramakrishna.
