US Warns of Terror Attacks on Airlines

Washington, July 7 (IANS): The US government has warned airlines that some terrorists are considering surgically implanting explosives into humans to carry out attacks, a media report said Wednesday.

There is no intelligence pointing to a specific plot, but the information was shared with the domestic and international carriers, the huffingtonpost.com reported.

The Transportation Security Administration said people travelling to the US from overseas may experience additional screening at airports.

Placing explosives and explosive components inside humans is not a new idea, but there is now new intelligence pointing to a fresh interest in using this tactic, the report said quoting a security official who requested anonymity.
