Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Jan 26: Mudoor Primary Agricultural Cooperative society (MPACS) has provided free mobile crematorium to address the cremation issues of mortal remains people belonging to rural areas. This is the first mobile crematorium in the state.

Last year, a man belonging to the scheduled caste had died. Friction started between communities with regards to cremation of his body. As the land that is earmarked by the government is encroached by a private individual, the family members of the deceased person had to consign his mortal remains to flames near their house itself.

There are around 600 houses in Mudoor village. If anyone dies, the mortal remains need to be taken to Kundapur crematorium ground that is 40 km away. President of MPACS Vijaya Shastri and CEO Prabhakar Poojary, who saw the plight of the villagers bought the mobile crematorium costing Rs 5.8 lac from Star Chair company of Kerala.

The mortal remains will get reduced to ashes within two hours using LPG cylinder weighing 10 kg. The vehicle will be sent to the site on request. The society has decided not to charge any fee for this service.

All traditional rituals that needs to be done can be carried out by keeping the mortal remains inside the crematorium. Smoke or foul smell will not emerge in the cremation process. The pressurized air from high pressure LPG cylinder helps to burn the body properly. The mobile crematorium which is six feet in length and made of steel can be transported in a truck to anyone’s doorstep.

Great initiative. Unfortunately only death and taxes have increased after 2014.

This idea of giving the families of the dead person a decent cremation in dignity , deserves. My heartfelt applause. India is a country with runaway population and dumping the partial or even unburnt bodies is disgraceful, unhygienic and ,pathetic. It causes slow depletion of forests . I have seen with my own eyes bones. Or skulls of the dead person remaining in the crematorium until new dead body arrives perhaps months later in some towns. , completely uncred for. In the absence of a clean electric cremation, this method is the best and can be made available to fit all pocket books I think one should charge a fee to cover expenses. Nothing wrong. I hope this service will improve for th3 good of all.

Wow! Incredible. Even the dead are reaping the benefits of this "kamaal" ki sarkaar. Before 2014, the name of this crematorium would have been based on "famous" family of India...
