Mangaluru: Customs officials seize 306 grams of gold worth Rs 15.36 lacs in MIA

Mangaluru, Sep 25: The customs officials seized 306.000 grams of gold valued at Rs 15,36,120 from a male passenger at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Saturday, September 24.

The man hails from Bantwal. He had arrived from Dubai and was attempting to smuggle gold in a paste form by concealing it inside his vest and underwear.

After extraction, the gold was converted into a rectangular bar of 24-carat gold.

Officials have seized the gold and further investigation is in progress.
