Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 22: It is accused by locals that the colour of sea water at Panambur beach has changed due to the contaminated water from good handling area around NMPT is flowing directly into the sea.

The beach water near Meenakaliya had turned black in addition to emitting foul smell. The water that is left from the godowns and yards that function near the beach flows into the beach through a drain.

Locals say that they develop itching and rashes on the feet if they happen to immerse their feet or legs in this water. They urge for action by the pollution control board and tourism department of the state.
