Mangaluru, Aug 31: A leopard that had created fear in the Edapadavu Nallya Seethambettu area after preying on a pet dog was trapped in a cage set up by the Forest Department on Sunday.
For the past few days, leopard activity had been reported in Seethambettu and other areas of Edapadavu. Local residents had complained that the leopard was preying on dogs and cattle.
On Saturday night, the leopard killed the dog belonging to Lokesh of Seethambettu. Following the incident, a complaint was lodged with the Forest Department.
The department officials had placed a cage at a nearby location, in which the leopard was eventually trapped on Sunday.
