Mumbai: Canara Welfare Association of Andheri (East) Celebrates Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 21: Canara Welfare Association (CWA) of suburban Andheri (East), here celebrated feast of Nativity of Mary at Sacred Heart church, Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri (East), here on Sunday September 19.
 
Sacred Heart parish priest Fr Baptist Pais, Fr Richard D’Almeida, Fr Salvador Serrao, Fr Edward D’Mello, Fr Raja Reddy and Fr Cyril Agekar celebrated the festal Holy Mass.

Suzanne Lawrence Coelho, the publisher of ‘Secular Citizen,’ the metro-based English weekly offered motion for stage programme held at Sacred Heart auditorium, here.
 
CWA office bearers felicitated Fr Baptist Pais, Victor Concesso and Joseph D’Souza during the programme.
 
Fr Baptist Pais honoured the chief promoter of programme – Richard and Lydwin D’Souza couple.
 
Fr Salvador Serrao blessed the new paddy-sheaves and freshly-harvested vegetables at the occasion.
 
The traditional fellowship meal was shared by the community.
 
CWA president Francis Tony D’Almeida, founder president Pius Fernandes, vice president Glen Rebello, secretary Lenny Fernandes, treasurer Richard Peris, joint secretary Julie Tony D’Almeida, Joseph D’Souza and Lancy D’Silva were also present.
 
Lenny Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.  Clement A Lobo and Reynold D’Costa compered the programme.

    It was a wonderful experience every year for all of us from Sacred Heart Parish, Andheri & for Monti Fest 2010 and all the past years. I specially thank Canara Welfare Association Mr.Tony/Juliana Almeida for giving me the honour in the procession with "Balok Mory" & Novem...It was a good konkani Cultural programme & very grand celebration and pure Mangalore Novem jevan. We are very grateful for having such a Wonderful Vibrant Parish with good Priests. Thank God & God bless...

    Excellent arrangements by the Canara Welfare Association in organizing a grand Monti Fest and Traditional Novem Jevon at Sacred Heart Church, Andheri East. The feast mass was celebrated by Fr. Naveen and con-celebrated by Fr. Baptist, Fr. Richard , Fr. Serrao & Fr. Cyril.
    Fr. Naveen your sermon was inspiring and amazing as always. It was a pleasure for me to be in the choir and participate in this grand celebration. All the arrangements made for the mass were outstanding.
    The programme and traditional novem jevon after the mass was outstanding. The children at Sacred Heart Church showed their love for the Konkani language by putting in numerous konkani songs and dances. I enjoyed every bit in organizing and supporting Mr. Victor Concessao & Mrs. Irene Mathias in putting up the cultural programme.

    The parishioners at Sacred Heart Church are so dynamic that every event ends with so much of excitement and fun. Its a great blessing for me to be a part of this vibrant parish which is being lead by such a loving and well talented team - Fr. Baptist, Fr. Richard, Fr. Naveen, Fr. Edward & Fr. Raja.

    I thank all the members of Canara welfare Association for organising the feast very solemnly to the the satisfaction of everybody present for the Feast. the entire programme was very well organised. This programme was very well supported by many helping hands-parish choir, little children of our parish, comperes, meal etc.. All the items in the hall(specially by the children)were excellent. As parish priest I feel very proud to have a group like this who is very supportive and understanding. Thank you Daijiworld and Rons Bantval for the excellent coverage of the celebration.
