Bangalore: Nativity of Mother Mary Celebrated at Vincent Pallotti Church

Bangalore, Sep 9: The annual feast of Nativity of Mother Mary was celebrated with gaiety by members of Konkani Kutamb at Vincent Pallotti Church, Banasawadi here on Wednesday September 8.

The celebrations commenced at 7.45 am through a procession by the little children carrying flowers and offering the same to Mother Mary.



It was followed by blessing of newly harvested corn (Novem) and Eucharistic celebrations. The main celebrant was Fr Michael Almeida of St Vincent Pallotti Provinicial, Challakere. He was assisted by Fr Victor Martis and Fr Arun Rodrigues.

Konkani choir group of the church ably assisted the celebrants by singing melodious hymns praising Mother Mary. At the end of the holy mass, the blessed corn was distributed to the people gathered. A get-together was organized after the mass at the Church Community Hall.
