Road safety week Rally held at Udupi

Udupi, Jan 20: Rotary Club, here, Udupi police and Udupi traffic police station personnel held a student’s rally as part of the road safety week. Udupi police circle inspector Manjunath inaugurated the rally that began from Jodukatte, here.

Students held posters on road safety in the rally that proceeded from Jodukatte to the service bus stand. Students of Poornaprajna College and Dr G Shanker Women’s College took part in the rally.



Circle inspector said, "Lac of people are dying in road accidents every year. The number of young people is more among them. Therefore, the programme is held to create awareness on road safety among youth. The programme will be held for a month. We have been holding various programmes for students every year. It is meant to create awareness among all."

Rotary Udupi president, Radhika Laxminarayana, secretary Deepa Bhandary, Udupi traffic station SI Abdul Khader, childline’s Ramachandra Upadhyaya, auto union members and students were present.
