PM Modi turns 76, leaders across political spectrum extend birthday greetings

New Delhi, Sep 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 76 on Thursday, September 17, with President Droupadi Murmu, Union ministers and political leaders extending birthday greetings and highlighting his public service and tenure in government.

President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to Modi and said that during his 25 years as chief minister and prime minister, he had established new benchmarks in good governance and given fresh momentum and direction to inclusive development.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also wished the Prime Minister, highlighting his focus on public welfare and various government initiatives. Shah said Modi's public life had been marked by service and dedication and wished him good health and a long life.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended birthday wishes to Modi, wishing him good health and a long life.

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan said India was making progress on the global stage under Modi's leadership and referred to developments in areas including digital transformation and economic growth. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also conveyed his greetings, saying India was strengthening its global identity and advancing in areas including development, self-reliance, innovation, digital progress and infrastructure.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Modi as the “world's most popular leader” and the architect of “New India” in his birthday message. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also extended his greetings, wishing Modi success, good health and many more years in public service.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar also conveyed his birthday wishes and spoke about Modi's long tenure in public life and his role in steering the country.

Several other Union ministers and political leaders also extended greetings to the Prime Minister on his 76th birthday.
