Kundapur: Byndoor mandala felicitates BJP supported gram panchayat members

Kundapur, Jan 20: A programme was held under the leadership of BJP Byndoor mandala on January 19 to felicitate the BJP supported members who won and contested in the recent gram panchayat elections held in the Byndoor Vidhan sabha constituency.

MP B Y Raghavendra congratulating both the winners and the contestants said that the BJP candidates have won 42,163 seats out of 76,183 in the state and 324 out of 552 seats in Byndoor. BJP has secured majority votes in 27 out of 37-gram panchayats. BJP supported candidates were ahead in 30-31 gram panchayats.

Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the achievement was possible due to their collective efforts. Elected representatives should try to satisfy all, utilizing the funds within limits for works under priority. Panchayats used to receive packages between Rs 10-20 lac in the past. But now under the 14-15 finance commission, there are examples of receiving packages up to Rs one crore. The government stressed the panchayat rule. Rural development minister K S Ishwarappa was requested to increase the honorarium of the panchayat members from Rs one thousand to Rs two thousand. Ramrajya should be formed through rural administration by the empowerment of gram panchayats.



Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said that the people have identified the development works in the constituency. BJP had ruled in 14 panchayats last time. But it is ahead in 31 panchayats this time. BJP will be ruling in Yadamoge, Haklady, Katbelthur, Karkunje, Nada and Kollur panchayats in which there was Congress rule for many years.

Meanwhile, Haklady gram panchayat former president, Subhash Shetty Holmage and supporters and Chittur gram panchayat former member Annappa Naik joined BJP.

Local BJP leaders were present. Byndoor mandala president Deepak Kumar Shetty welcomed and gave an introduction. State project commission member Priyadarshini Devadiga compered the programme. Mandala chief secretary Prakash Poojary Jeddu rendered the vote of thanks.
