Mangaluru: Rs 10 crore worth renovation work to be taken up at Kadri Kalabairaveshwara temple

Mangaluru, Jan 15: Sri Sri Sri Nirmalanathji Maharaj, Pitadipathi of Kadri Shri Yogeshwara Math informed that the Math has taken up the renovation work of Kadri Kalabairaveshwara temple at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.

Addressing media on Friday January 15, he said, "The temple has a history of more than 500 years. The spiritual endeavours of Natha Pantha Yoga Purusha Matsyendranatha and Yoga Guru Gorakshanatha installed the Lord Kalabhairava statue. After taking up charge as Peetadhipathi of Math, the renovation work of the temple has been taken up with support of devotees and the common public.

“The renovation work of the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Bhairava Shrine has been taken up. However, the completion of the divine task needs genuine physical and financial support from the common public. Generous contribution is solicited in the form of cash, kind construction materials and any other assistance,” he said.

Welcoming the state government's decision on cow slaughter, Nirmalanathji Maharaj said, "The decision of the government on banning cow slaughter is a good and it is historical one. Slaughtering a cow is equal to killing one's own mother. Hence, protecting cows is essential. It is also a great humankind act. Revering mother, father and deities is one of the noble acts. A man becomes 'Purushothama' when respect his parents.”

Former mayor Harinath who is also president of renovation and executive committee along with others handed over Rs 1 lac cheque to Nirmalanathji Maharaj during the occasion.

Umesh Jogi, Kiran Kumar Jogi, president of Karnataka Jogi Samaja Sudharaka Sangha, Ashok K, president of Dakshina Kannada Jogi Samaja Seva Sangha were present.
