Mangaluru, Jan 15: Three people who arrived in a two-wheeler tried to kidnap a boy from in front of Goddess Mahalasa temple at Konchady near Padavinangady here on Thursday January 14.

Three boys aged between 7 and 11 were walking towards their home near Goddess Mahalasa temple mentioned above at around 7 pm on Wednesday January 14 when three persons came there in a two-wheeler. They stopped the vehicle near one of the boys, covered him with a gunny bag in a flash and tried to catch hold of the boy. Shivam Kamath, who was with the other two boys, showed exemplary presence of mind and attacked the intruders with stones and mud found nearby. He also raised an alarm, and shouted for help. The abductors, who sensed that they could be in trouble, fled from the spot.

A complaint relating to the incident was filed in the town police station at Kankanady here. Deputy commissioner of police Hariram Shankar, Kankanady police inspector Ashok, visited the spot, scrutinized the area and collected details from the boys. They also collected information from the CCTV footage.

Initially many including the family members of the boys and people in the area refused to believe the abduction story. However, on checking CCTV camera footage, they found that the nightmarish incident had indeed happened as explained by the boys. People as well as the police have lavishly praised the presence of mind and courage shown by Shivam Kamath.

sri-elder karkala, need not be a rich kid.their aim is something else.didnt you read the story of a boy kidnaping a boy hosting and giving drinks to drink by force ,later changing his sex by force and make him to beg?Such night mares are slowly increasing.we should take things seriously.hard and horrible. One should really appriciate the boy who acted really very good.He should be rewarded.God saved them.
