Puttur: Alcoholic reverses wheel of fortune, becomes famous ‘roti maker’

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jan 13: A person here stands out as an excellent testimony to prove that one can achieve anything in life if he is ready to work hard, take bold decisions and move ahead with self-confidence. The person concerned was a liquor addict in the past. Now he has kicked that habit and has treaded the path of success far and high. The ‘rotis’ manufactured in his unit have become very popular not only in Karnataka, but also in national and international markets.

This is the success saga of Ramachandra Gowda from Derody in Kodimbala village near Kadaba. Because of his liquor addiction, people used to despise Gowda. He attended liquor de-addiction camp of Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, became a new man, and turned into a successful businessman.

Ramachandra Gowda, who had become an addict when young, continued with his habit after marriage. He faced the circumstances under which he had to leave his home and live in the home of his in-laws. During this period, under compulsion, he joined the de-addiction camp. He reached Derody after the camp, rented a home, raised a loan of Rs 30,000 from the rural development project, got another loan of Rs 5,000 from someone else and started making rice rotis. His unit has been running successfully since the last 11 years.

Because of the quality, his Roti has even entered the foreign market. Once in two months, he exports seven quintals of Roti to Bahrain. He also gets a lot of demand from various places. Gowda has become financially stable and leading a self-reliant life now. He has bought a land near his house for Rs 20 lac where he wants to establish his modern rice Roti modern unit in a big way.

Gowda proves that persons driven by unflinching resolve and willingness to put in hard work can achieve any goal.

The alarming rise in addiction ( Drugs and alcohol) is certainly worrisome, has the potential, to destroy entire families. Drugs are popular among professionals, youths, as it is easily available n virtually non detectable...Kudos to Gowda, for transforming his life from an addict, to a successful entrepreneur.. Every addict, must be admitted immediately, into a rehabilitation center, for detox therapy..... His family must be complimented n applauded for supporting him mentally n physically.... It is almost impossible to come back to normal life, without family and friends assistance...

That's why i quit drinking since 4 yrs due to religious concern & health. now am very happy man with stress free life.

its just a 15 - 30 min of kick depending upon quality of drink some last a day, you go to sleep and wake up in late morning followed by slight stomach upset and recall previous day events whom you messaged whom you cursed that's alcoholic life oh yes bottle doesn't come free, normal addiction empties pockets unless one has control over drinks.
