Kundapur: Former Koteshwar gram panchayat president joins Congress

Kundapur, Dec 3: Janaki Billava, former member of taluk panchayat and former president of Koteshwar gram panchayat, joined Congress party.

In the programme held at Kundapur block Congress office on Thursday December 3, Block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty and veteran leader Malyadi Shivarama Shetty handed over Congress party flag and Congress leader Beejadi Ashok Poojary draped Congress shawl to her officially admitting her into the party.

Janaki Billava had served for four terms from 1995 as BJP Mahila Morcha president. She had also served for two terms each as taluk panchayat member, as member of fisheries cooperative society, gram panchayat member and for one term as gram panchayat president.

Besides her more than 30 young leaders including Roopa Poojary, Preeti Poojary, Ananda Poojary, Megharaj Poojary, Rajesh Poojary, Rohith Poojary, Raghavendra Poojary, Soma Halealive, Karunakar Poojary, Suresh Poojary, Mahesh Poojary, Sanjay Poojary and Ranjith Poojary joined Congress.

Congress leaders Malyadi Shivarama Shetty, block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty, block Congress chief secretary Vikas Hegde, Vinod Crasto and Kodi Sunil Poojary welcomed and conveyed their best wishes.

KPCC social media state chief secretary Chandrashekar Shetty, Ashok Suvarna, Keshava Bhat and Vijayadhar Poojary were present. Congress veteran leaders Kodi Shanker Poojary, Beejadi Ashok Poojary and youth leader Kodi Sunil Poojary had shouldered the entire responsibility of the inclusion ceremony.
