Mangaluru, Dec 2: A delegation of Billava leaders under the guidance of Kanyadi temple seer Brahmananda Saraswathi Swamy led by Kankanady Garodi temple president Chittaranjan visited BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and urged him to name Mangaluru International Airport after Koti Chennayya.

Nalin Kumar Kateel stated that several discussions have been held in the district over naming Mangaluru airport after Koti Chennayya. He also said other names were proposed as well. “I have great regard for Koti Chennayya. As the process should be conducted within the legal framework of the government, a decision of naming it as Koti Chennayya airport will be taken after obtaining opinions from all the MLAs in the district, Kanyadi seer and the district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary. It is necessary for all the communities to head in one direction in this respect to avoid confusion,” he said.
