Legislators of coastal region urge CM to sanction relief from rain havoc

Bengaluru, Oct 15: A delegation of legislators from the coastal region under the leadership of Muzrai and Fisheries Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary called on Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and urged the State government to sanction immediate financial assistance to the coastal districts battered by the heavy downpour during the last few days.

The delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the havoc caused by the heavy and torrential rains in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts damaging roads and infrastructure besides inundating vast tracts of standing crops besides damages to arecanut trees.

Members of the State Legislative Assembly Sanjiv Mattanduru, Bharat Shetty, Umananth Kotian, Vedavyasa Kamath, Angara, Rajesh Nayak and MLC Pratap Simha Nayak were part of the delegation that met the Chief Minister at his home office Krishna in Bengaluru on Thursday.
