Bantwal: Police arrests one over ganja possession

Bantwal, Oct 1: The personnel of Bantwal rural police station took into custody a person identified as Mohammed Azharuddin (25) and found 235 grams of ganja worth Rs 4,000 in his possession on Wednesday September 30.

The police also impounded a Suzuki Access scooter used by the accused. They are questioning the man further to unearth more details of his drug connection.

The arrest was made by rural police sub-inspector Prasanna and probationary police sub-inspector Nasreen Taj and staff acting under the direction of Bantwal sub-divison deputy superintendent of police, Valentine D'Souza and circle inspector T D Nagaraj. A case has been registered in the rural police station.

This happens to be the third case being registered within Bantwal police circle office in the last two weeks. Similar cases have also been registered in Bantwal town and Vittal police stations.
