Drugs case: CCB takes Ragini, Sanjjanaa for forensic tests

Bengaluru, Sep 13 (IANS): The Bengaluru police's City Crime Branch (CCB) on Sunday took Sandalwood actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani, arrested in the drugs racket case, to undergo forensic tests, including hair follicle test, at FSL here.

The police said that since their police custody would end on Monday evening, they had just a day more to get all tests done. Hence, both were taken to the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) in Madiwala.

Unlike in the past when Sanjjanaa had created a ruckus over such tests at a government hospital, both cooperated an quietly followed the instructions on Sunday, a senior police officer added.

According to the police, compared with tests on urine, saliva or blood samples, hair follicle test gave better results. "We have taken blood and urine samples also, but we thought about the hair follicle test."

Both actresses were arrested in a case related to alleged links of the drug mafia with Kannada film industry actors.

The reason for Drug Menace In Nation and that too with the young generation of late is free flowing of money. People has so much money and they want to flaunt in every which way . I do know some parents who were not rich ( rather very poor) in the past have made so much money is that , they spend like 10lakhs on Children’s birthday . Students hire the entire Pub of Manipal to throw birthday party and do what ? Kids are drunk like a fish end in the evening - it all started with little known brands which costed Rs.150/bottle now a rich kid can through a party with a bottle which can cost up to Rs.25000/- for a crowd of 100s. That’s the kind of money these people have and parents are supporting such extravaganza . In our childhood in 80s we at times didn’t know when the birthday had come and gone and today even a dog’s birthday is celebrated. Now, after exhibiting the filth of such magnitude what will the other guys who has more money do to throw around ? He would surely bring something exotic which others cannot afford and drugs are such along with doing other weird things like sending a Personal video wedding card like Reddy family did . ( a common occasion like wedding is celebrated likens POP show and sometimes I feel what for ? ) .

Finally what started a simple Exhibition of wealth have become new normal for society. As a Kid of 20s today and say about a drug addict and possession of drugs and he will say that’s all Normal Appa - we have seen so many of our friends doing it . Most of the kids who have crossed the professional colleges have seen their friends using drugs if not themselves. Back in 70s and 80s having a coffee in a local restaurant was a taboo. (

So, finally like some advanced nations - even India must Tax like 90% of income when it crosses this Filthy Threshold. Being a richest man on the earth when 70% of the people are suffering for a square meal is not a great achievement. Actually we must be ashamed of it .

At least Bangalore is uphold the Law for Drugs….not like Bombay ...they shelter and do false allegations on those who put the light on drugs... and to avoid the law..

Bangalore was a small town 15 yrs ago... Now became metro city/ Silicon city/ Electronic city... and decent people...because of that..almost 25% companies from Bombay moved to Bangalore for better future to avoid Goondagiri ..even they put the tape on the mouth of top Bolleywood stars from 50 yrs..

    Cynthi,

If anybody wants a job in US he/she should take a drug test and pass it....its simple urine analysis.....typically it takes 24 to 36 hours to get results...typically employers pay for this test....

This gives accurate result if drugs are used for short duration...say maximum a week...

If they want to find out drug using history for long term, they take hair sample...this is typically done by law enforcement agencies...

There are hundreds of types drugs available...some are natural like Pot / Ganja, Cocaine etc and some synthetic...

Pot / Ganja is relatively harmless and legalized in Canada and some States of US...all the drugs are highly addictive and better stay away from them...

    ...Tak...Takk...
