"The irrigation projects undertaken by the water resources department need an investment of Rs 1.10 lac crore to complete. The chief minister has issued instructions to undertake irrigation projects at any cost even if that means raising loans. Therefore, there is no question of suspending any of the projects," he stated. He however confessed that there is a problem of fixation of price for land proposed to be acquired for Krishna upper bank project.

"We will hold discussions with the chief minister on this issue and steps will be taken soon. Under the Yettinahole project, works to lift components and gravitational canals will be completed and during the next monsoon season water will be released into Veda valley on an experimental basis," he assured.

This is about first phase. We will see many phases, if we are still alive, being inaugurated. If Pumpwell Flyover took ten years, Yetthinahole might take 30 years.
