Heartfelt Condolences to Mr. Saldanha and family. May Arshita s soul rest in peace and her family find the strength to deal with the situation. Really sad to hear about this happening to someone.
Request everyone else to stand by the passengers who were in the crash and going through a rough phase. Jumping into conclusions based on the passengers age or origin is unwise and utterly silly.
Drive safe and please stay away from fragile cars. Your Safety is predominant compared to mileage, power or whatever these companies promise compromising your well being. May the almighty help the affected families get through this tough phase.
    God bless!

Good that car just got stuck on the divider. If that car rolled over on the road, it would have become more critical and sometime all the occupants of the car as well others would die. This incident cant blame on road or rain, but carelessness .
May her soul rest in peace and speedy recovery of others.

Puddles of water collect near the median whenever it rains due to unscientific construction by NHAI. There are a few spots in Kaup after Kaup flyover and before Pangala bridge when you go from Mangalore to Udupi direction. Some of these puddles are just after a slight bend and therefore not visible. The right front tyre hits the puddle and aquaplanes with the driver losing control. This could potentially have happened here. A proper investigation needs to be done here and if what I said is the reason, a murder charge should be filed against NHAI officials for providing us such pathetic highways despite collecting huge tolls and road taxes. I wonder if oll company and NHAI have an ambulance which they are supposed to compulsorily provide.
It appears to be a Zoom rental car. These cars have a speed limiter at 80kmph. The driver cannot go beyond this speed. Many people commenting here have passed judgment by just seeing these photos as overspeeding, driving under influence, etc, etc. just like our TV channels which have become de facto law courts now.
I wish there will be a proper inquiry and a rational scientific inference made and then blame fixed.

    Personal experience.
I have used Zoom rental cars. Even if you stand on the accelerator pedal, car is not going to cross 80kmph.
I dont understand what you mean by "twice the speed of Activa"

Yes, I agree with you. Zoomcar have speed limit regulation where the car wont cross 80kmph even if press full accelerator peddle. I dont think this car belongs to Zoomcar Co. There are ample examples on the build quality of Maruti Swift is proven this is also an example, Why doesnt govt ban such vehicles which has taken so many lives? Sorry for the loss. Please stay safe. Choose a better vehicle a safer vehicle. We Indians choose for Mileage rather think about safety.

Iam not talking about the highway speed limit .
I am talking about a speed limiter device in the car which does not allow it to go beyond 80kmph speed.

My opinion seat belt were not utilized to which as the as the accident took place the individual was badly affected. Again I believe swift does not have airbags too

Again Suzuki manufactures huge number of vehicles so they so take care of basic safety.

It is individual driving the vehicle res. to ensure safety of himself and everyone to some extent like avoid over speeding and be cautious while driving.

Vehicles in the hands of drivers under 25 years of age somehow do not follow the normal driving behaviour.

Shows that people in coastal area are irresponsible and are always in a hurry. Also there's plenty of laxity. A few days ago everything seemed under control. It seems that despite awareness (if any), there seems to be a chaltha hai chalatha hai policy.

Such car designed for all the season low speed. Even rainy season such car wheel design itself not supporting like Suv. Most of the young generation try to overtake the provided facilities in the low budget car. And try to map up with suv speed with over excitement especially when in group travel.

These cars are less than 500 kilos in gross weight.
They cannot go over 60 km/hr in rain.
Tires treads will hold on to water once the speed is above 60, and the result is skidding.
Skidding will make the steering wheel unresponsive and go without control .
It will be similar to skating on ice. End is in Almighty's hand.

its a rent a car now issues will be more they will squeeze as much as possible + most rent cars aren't in good condition, impact of crash has divided car into nearly two which means guess the speed during heavy rainfall and even ABS didn't work. i don't know much about this incident forgive me i may be wrong here but in reality most people do drink and drive that's why loss control happens or any substance consumed.
