Unlock day 36: 131 cases in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi reports 53; five deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 13: Dakshina Kannada on Monday July 13 recorded 131 cases and four deaths. Meanwhile, Udupi reported 53 fresh cases and one death.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 24,950 samples have been sent for tests so far. As many as 22,589 have turned out negative, and 2,361 are positive till date. Out of these, 1,467 cases are currently active. As many as 844 persons have recovered and been discharged, and 50 deaths have occurred so far, including four on Monday.

As many as 62 patients were discharged on Monday from Wenlock as well as private hospitals.

Of the 131 who tested positive on Monday, 16 are primary contacts, 63 have ILI symptoms, 10 have SARI symptoms, four have international travel history, and contacts of 38 are being traced.

The patients whose deaths were reported on Monday are a 70-year-old male who also had diabetes, cardiac issues and pneumonia and was on ventilator, a 53-year-old male who suffered from hepatitis and was on ventilator, a 60-year-old male who has SARI, and a 70-year-old male who was suffering from carcinoma of lung.

Udupi

As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,875 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, and a total of 4,875 have completed 14 days of quarantine. As many as 1,401 persons are currently in home quarantine.

A total of 148 people are in isolation wards, including 34 fresh admissions on Monday. Among the new admissions, four are coronavirus suspects, 10 have SARI and 20 influenza-like illness.

As many as 1,160 people, including 26 on Monday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.

A total of 22,533 samples have been collected so far, including 206 on Monday, out of which two are COVID suspects and 28 are COVID contacts. Out of them, 19,123 samples have turned out to be negative, including 260 on Monday, and 1,749 reports are awaited.

As many as 1,661 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 53 on Monday. As many as 1,280 patients have been discharged so far including seven on Monday, and 378 cases are currently active. Four deaths have occurred so far, including a 70-year-old from Byndoor on Monday. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.

The 53 cases reported today include 31 men, 18 women and four children. As many as 27 belong to Udupi taluk, 23 are from Kundapur and three from Karkala. Twelve among them have ILI symptoms and 41 are primary contacts of earlier patients.

To add we don't have any cure but we will test you and put u in hospital so that u end ur life by seeing the bill , we will destroy all business and give permission to only ours and then again add more lockdown ,once lockdown is done we will do more vande bharath flights and import more Corona so we have again lockdown .....wat an irony of Indians to ask for more lockdown when there is no vaccine
