Mangaluru: Srinivas University recognised by DSIR, Government of India for Intensifying Research

Mangaluru, Jul 1: Srinivas University, here received recognition from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to intensify scientific and industrial research.

The primary endeavour of DSIR is to promote Research and Development (R & D) activities of the educational institutes and industries. It provides a link between recognized universities, scientific laboratories and industrial establishments for the transfer of technologies through National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and facilitates investment in R&D through Central Electronics Limited (CEL).

DSIR issues the Recognition certificate to only those well-known and proven educational institutes/universities and industries who are strong in research and development activities. This recognition allows the universities to waive the customs and excise duties for purchasing of equipment, instrument spares and consumables for R & D activities.

Srinivas University is the first state private university in coastal Karnataka and one among only three state private universities of Karnataka state who received this certificate of recognition from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for its well-known research activities and contributions.
