Mangaluru: 'Changed suicide decision at last minute' says youth who abandoned bike at bridge

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 11: The youth from Kurnadu Hoovinakopla who left his motorbike on Netravati bridge at Ullal and went missing, and later found at Shivamogga and was brought back to the city by his friends, confessed that he has been facing deep financial crisis and hence had decided to commit suicide. He said he changed his mind at the last minute.

Praveen (28), working as salesman for an optical centre in the city, said that after working in the centre, he had left at 7:30 pm. After reaching Thokkottu Kallapu, he had turned his motor bike backwards, left the bike with ignition key on Netravati bridge and went away. After people in other vehicles saw the orphaned bike, they had informed the police. The police then contacted Praveen's family thereafter.

Search for Praveen had begun immediately after the family came to know that Praveen had left behind a towel and helmet too along with the bike and his mobile phone was not found. Divers failed to find his body in the river. Praveen reached Shivamogga and called his friend on Wednesday morning, asking him to inform his family that he was safe. He later contacted the police and explained about the circumstances under which he had left the bike here. The police contacted Doddapete police at Shivamogga and asked them to take Paveen into custody. His family members and friends went to Shivamogga and brought him back.

In future this type of artists get cheap access to advertise themselves to public. Police should investigate this man for any fraud or crime that he might have committed. Also penalize him for wasting precious time of our police, firemen and divers who struggled to find this Crook. People might follow him in future to do this drama...

No... it is his decision to go to Shivamogga leaving the bike there itself... what stupidity? If he decided not to commit suicide why did he not go back with his bike. He could have easily sold the bike and got some money. Wasn't it simply a clear cut case of disappearing?

Such people exists who take huge loans n disappear and as a result people really in need and who are sincere in repaying will not receive help... This looks like emotional blackmail... He could have taken his bike along to Shimoga...
