Mangaluru: Woman who visited First Neuro Hospital tests corona-positive on May 13

Mangaluru, May 13: A 38-year-old woman tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, May 13.

It is said that the woman had visited her daughter when she was under treatment at First Neuro Hospital Mangaluru. The woman hails from Daranda Bagilu in Pilar, Someshwar. She was shifted to Wenlock Covid hospital.

She is said to have contracted the infection from P-507, an 80-year-old woman from Kulshekar, who was getting treated for some ailment at First Neuro hospital in Padil. She was tested positive for coronavirus on April 27.

The authorities are preparing to enforce seal down in Daranda Bagilu area. 

Now, the district has 17 active coronavirus cases.

The total number of COVID-19 cases found in Dakshina Kannada district are 34 now. Three among them have died and 14 have been discharged.

    When they have have already planned to hide it, nothing will come out....

    Let me explain u - taht 18 yr old gal first visited first neuro hospital on 19 april - she had bought the virus from bhatkal ( neighbors who came from dubai ) and then virus spread to first neuro and also she went back bhatkal and spread virus there

    It s not bhatkal lady. Its bantwal Mother in law who contracted feom daughter in law, that MIL had asthmatic problem, she was having treatment since march in first neuro. This bhatkal lady went in april n she contracted from first neuro. Siince corna virus stays on metals an dplastics etc for more than 4 to 8 hours it is likely with some medical equipments they all got contracted.

    This hospital should have disenfected every 3 days when the first death was heard, all medical equipments should have been sterilised. Lack of hygiene is added caps on corona feather.

    This virus likes unhygeinic place settles there without any living cells for more than 8 hours. Thats why one should not spit or remove sweat on public space. It has by now 70 mutations, this is what world scientists saying, so only single vaccine is nt enough, we need many pattern vaccine.

    First neuro pls seal ur hospital and undergo complete sterilisation and disenfection. Atleast for 10 days.

    The root cause for this spread from First Neuro to be found and action to be taken against the hospital to be taken. Cost for treatment for all these patients to be recovered from the hospital if found guilty. Please don't be lenient and be fair in investigation.

    Please don't blame hospital. No hospital would do such a big mistake anytime. When every one can see the effect of spreading the virus why the hospital admin will hide the fact?? Why would they risk their own lives? Why would they take risk to spoil their own hospital reputation? It was totally unknown to the hospital. Never blame untill get the root of the virus to the hospital

    Hospital is already shut and surrounding areas made sensitive zone. All patients discharged. Kulshekar patient is one such case. The root person must be asymptotic hence he/she is spreading it without knowing about it.

    It's the fear, not spreading it deliberately. Each and every person who visited the hospital must be praying 'Oh God, let it be NOT me'

    There should be a awareness movement to let people know that being COVID +ve is not a shame. Let us be open about it. Only then people will shed the disgrace associated with it. Else they will continue to be secretive about it and more cases will keep coming

    Travel history of that woman and family since January has been traced and got test results too. There has been no source of virus on their side.
    So now need to trace all patients who visited First Neuro since February and trace their and family's travel history.
    It's gonna be a long process tho.

    Jovita you are right. Bantwal lady got it(daughter in law). she used to visit first neuro to see her m-i-law. so mother in law got it. the helper lady from panemangalore (hospital staff) got from second lady and she gave to shakthinagar lady and boloor lady who were in hospital. since she was cleaning their rooms. rest all cases continued.... so we cant blame any one straight away. only the department has to find out the real cause.

    @Jacintha: 'Used to visit' and 'Visited' has big difference.
    DIL visited Hospital only on April 3 ( only one day )
    She didn't even touch MIL as she was being shifted from ICU to ward and there were tubes, drips around her bed.
    Followed all procedures like applying sanitizer, wearing mask, maintaining distance.
    So how did virus transmit there, wirelessly?
    Also, MIL's caretaker was with her for 35 days ( direct contact daily )
    How did he not get the virus?
    Don't say immunity immunity for everything, that's lame excuse now.
    All type of aged people has got infected.
