Mangaluru: People show laxity - Police issue warning through loudspeakers

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Police personnel have started to warn the people through loudspeakers not to venture out of their homes. The general public are being cautioned against moving around unnecessarily.

It is found that the auto rickshaw drivers also have neglected the order issued by the deputy commissioner for lockdown. The police, who have been moving around the heart of the city where crowds are being witnessed, creating awareness among the people about the seriousness of the issue and the need to stay indoors. They have been appealing to the people and vehicle riders not to come out and occupy public spaces and strictly follow the orders.

The people however have not been heeding to the requests. The police have been asking them to obey the orders in view of the enormity of the situation plaguing the region. They also are telling the people that section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code is in force and crowding is banned.

The confusion to citizens is in the way of communication. There is no clear guidance of supply of essential commodities and medical facilities. The district administration can provide these facilities with door to door facilities. The people to blame for bad communication is not correct.Publish and announce by loudspeaker the guidance and supply of necessary things

People have been talking about Communications not being shared well. I believe that these are the ones who are ignorant of the situation/seriousness that is happening in the world. Every single person has a cell phone and definitely a neighbour or area where they could feel suspicious why there are no vehicular movement in the area or why are people wearing masks in his area.

how else should a person need to be communicated with?. its a simple way of understanding your surrounding. People who are ignorant of the seriousness now because of them, more stringent actions are going to take place in the nation.

Thank You for the thoughtful people who are staying indoors and not blaming the government for every simple day to day order of life instead understanding themselves the seriousness and that can cause to others around us.

Stay Safe, Stay Indoors. Better now than late..

Semi literate but belongung to the affluent class makes human beings arrogant. Shame on such dumwits who are posing a risk to the society at large. Police should arrest a few of these loiterers to keep the others indoors because under present health scare they can be denied bail for two years.

Nobody has taken the matter seriously. I suggest 24×7 days Curfew is the only solution to make citizens to sit at home compulsory . Otherwise it will be a serious matter.

In India, we have many daily wage laborers, who are dependent on their daily wage earnings to run their family. These persons would take risks to support their family and loved ones. Our government should come out with a package for these people and assure them that they will be taken care of. Unless this is done, there could be perhaps consequences of a different nature, in case the situation gets worse with extended period of lock downs. Hope someone is listening and doing a bit if what other countries are doing. Our so called rich industrialists can donate some of their wealth to a good cause, in these period of uncertainties. Wishing everyone to stay safe and stay healthy. Enjoy your time with family at home. Jai Karnataka / Jai Hind.

It's our individual responsibility to protect ourselves, our family and our fellow person. We must stop spread of deadly corona virus in Mangalore city. Mangalore should never be another Wohan or Italy. All must understand the seriousness of the situation.

It is not only you get it. You spread it to your near and dear, your neighbors and once infected the entire area around your house will be cordoned. Look at Italy, Iran and other countries where it is spreading without respite. Please be responsible to self, your family, neighbors and society.

The police are doing their job in advance, because when the things go out of hand with a Corona patient every step, its the police and the health workers who will be at a very high risk. Let's not make the life difficult for them.

Yes, many people must go to work (say, auto drivers) because otherwise their family has nothing to eat but if they get sick, those whom they are feeding will be hungry for an extended period i.e. till the breadwinner gets well.

Let's pray that the worst is spared from hitting our city and behave accordingly. We can't be taking things easily now and then cursing afterwards.
