Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (PH)

Udupi, Nov 12: Sub-inspector of Udupi Anantha Padmanabha has been suspendered by superintendent of police Nisha James on Monday night, November 11 for not filing an FIR and not informing the communal issue caused in Bhujanga Park to the higher authorities.

It may be recalled, on November 2 at around 8 pm Sunil Poojary, Rakesh Suvarna and their friends assaulted Shivani and her friends from another communities. A statement was written at the police station. But as per the request of Shivani’s father, complaint was not registered. Also, Shivani and her friends’ pictures were downloaded from Facebook and posted in different social media platforms by Sunil and his mates. It is reported that no action was taken by sub inspector Anantapadmanabha against this and as a result he was suspended from his duty.

Raghupati Bhat, MLA of Udupi, said that he strongly opposes the move of SP Nisha James. “Town SI Anantapadmanabha has been a very efficient police personnel in Udupi. He has investigated the issue and had taken preventive measures so that such events do not recur again. In spite of this, he has been suspended from his service for not filing a FIR and not reporting the issue to the higher authorities,” he said. The MLA said that he had a word with the home minister of Karnataka as well as the IG regarding the issue and requested them to bring back Anantapadmanabha back into service in Udupi. He also questioned Nisha James move and said that there are many criminal acts taking place regarding Matka and ganja in respective towns away from Udupi. He asked why the respective sub-inspectors from those areas have not been suspended for not reporting the issues to the SP.

I find SP has right .Here MLA is mixing isnt correct.like the old case of previous transfering the lady to another place for not attending the phone call of MLA.

Police dept has to do their duty .why did the SI didnt register the case when there is violence between the communities there.?Many times police deny to register the case. When he denys to register as SI then how it will be later when he gets a higher position? They should learn first proper things.

"He also questioned Nisha James move and said that there are many criminal acts taking place regarding Matka and ganja in respective towns away from Udupi". So, when MLA Raghupati Bhat knew this, why did he not speak? Who was he waiting for? Being a elected representative and having knowledge of such activities shouldnt he have reported it and put an end to it?

Dear all, suppose there was any communal criminality in the park due to the misbehavior of this communal groups you would have blamed MLA and asked him to resign.

Since he is the supreme of his constituency he is responsible for such undo incidence if any. The incidence has been settled amicably and and SI has settled the matter successfully.

Why SP has interfered in between and suspended the SI instead of warning the girl not to indulge in such activities.

The politician must not interfere in law and order situation, let the competent police / legal authorities address it.

As a MLA he should support law and order and not support anti social elements, He had his time and did nothing notable.

SP is right in her upright actions to book SI & take appropriate action.

SP has taken correct action. Why MAL has to interfere in this issue. Let him concentrate on other thousands of open issues like death trap national high way. Let allow other to do their duty that to highly qualified IPS officers. SP know what is their duty and responsibility.
