Customs officials find gold worth Rs 90 lac at Kozhikode airport

Kozhikode, Oct 21: In the operation that was conducted by customs officials at the Karipur International Airport at Kozhikode, gold worth Rs 90 lac was found in two separate cases. 

Ibrahim Riyaz, a resident of Kasargod was arrested in this connection. 

When the customs officials checked the things in Ibrahim’s bag, they came to know that he had hidden 267 grams of gold in a perfume bottle. He had arrived from Dubai. The officials confiscated the same and arrested the person. 

In another operation conducted by the customs officials at the same airport one kilo gold bar was found that was kept below a seat on a SpiceJet flight that had arrived from Dubai. However, it is not known as to whom the gold bar belongs to. The customs officials are investigating further.
