Udupi: Thieves decamp with Rs 12 lac cash by breaking shutter of shop

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Oct 9: The thieves who broke into a wholesale shop in the heart of the city decamped with lacs of rupees in cash. The incident came to light on the morning of Wednesday, October 9.

Thieves broke the shutter of Rama Enterprises wholesale shop that is situated in the basement of the Maithri Complex in city, which deals in gutka and cigarette and escaped with Rs 12 lac in cash that was kept in the drawer.

As it was bank holiday for the past three days, the owner of the shop Ravindra Nayak had kept the cash in the shop itself. Police suspect that this is an insider job. The way the drawer was bent and cash was removed clearly shows that this was done by people who knew about the cash kept in the drawer.

The thieves had bought new iron rods for the purpose of theft and brought the same to the shop by covering it in sack cloth. They opened the shutter by breaking it, went inside the shop, broke the drawer and decamped with the money.

Though there are two CCTV cameras in the shop, both were not working. Police are going through the data recorded in the shops that are located nearby this shop for any clues of the thieves.

Udupi superintendent of police Nisha James, circle inspector Manjunath, station officer Anantha Padmanabha and finger print experts arrived at the spot and began the spot inspection.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

I was told by my elders that if you earn by harming others the money will not remain with you. If you earn by taking corruption, selling liquor, gutka, cigarettes which is harming others you can't enjoy the money

Dear JOssey, but Amit shah will not agree with you. According to him there is no unemployed in the whole country and bjp govt has created jobs to crores of people as promised in the election rallies.

Amit shah will make india shining. He is the best ever Home minister we have since independence. Amit shah is now busy is kicking out non indians so that all indians will live peacefully and happily. BJP will make india number one in the world if given chance for another 25 years and that is what they are trying by taking away voting rights of certain people.

BJP is not allowing opposition parties also. It wants to take all decisions on its own for the benefit of india and indians. Indian ecocomy has reached the highest level after bjp govt. We have given loan of crores of dollars to various countries which shows how strong is our country. bjp govt also is buying military fighters costing billions of dollars.
