Mangaluru, Oct 8: Singer late Jerry Bajjodi's Konkani audio CD Volume 2 of ‘Ye Ghara Kulaara’ was released on Sunday, October 6.

Late Jerald Oswald D'Souza, popularly known as Jerry Bajjodi, who passed away on September 3 due to cardiac arrest, loved Konkani music sincerely and with dedication till his last day. He filled the hearts and minds of people with his melodious voice and soulful compositions and finally breathed his last while performing live on stage at the Ganeshotsava celebration at Bejai in the city.

The artiste who bid farewell to his family, music lovers and the Konkani world, had several dreams about music when he was alive. He had mentioned about them on many occasions including in interviews on television and radio.

One of Jerry’s ambitions was to release his Konkani album by the end of 2019. Due to his sudden death, his dream could not be fulfilled. His team members of Joyful Beats took the initiative to fulfil his dream and the CD was released at Kalaangan during 214th monthly theatre.

The CD was released by Vishwa Konkani Kalarathn, Mandd Sobhaan gurkar Eric Ozario. Jerry Bajjodi’s wife Laveena D’Souza, children Jeslita, Joyston and Lozita Dsouza and members of Joyful Beats were present on the dais. A cheque of rupees one lac was handed over to Jerry Bajjodi’s wife.

At the same time, the CD was also released at Don Bosco hall by Fr Onil D’Souza, director of St Antony Orphanage and Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, President of Konkani Natak Sabha during the 76th annual day celebration of Konkani Natak Sabha. Floyd D'Mello Cascia, a close friend of Jerry and member of Joyful Beats was present on the stage along with the executive members of Konkani Natak Sabha.

The CD consists of 10 songs in which one song is sung by late Jerry Bajjodi. It is an irony that the last words sung by Jerry in the CD ‘Sangeeth Urtha, Haanv Urchona (music will last but not I) have indeed become true with his sudden death.

The music for the songs is provided by Patson Pereira. Daijiworld.com and Daijiworld 24×7 are the media partners. Radio Daijiworld and Radio Sarang are the radio partners.
