Bengaluru, Sep 22: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has been asked to explain the reasons by state president of BJP Nalin Kumar Kateel for setting up his office at a public library in Jayanagar fifth block, which is criticized by the public.

It is learnt that Nalin Kumar Kateel has spoken to the MP and has asked him for an explanation on the issue on Thursday and Friday.

Responding on the issue, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "All the details pertaining to the issue are appraised to me by MP Tejasvi Surya. In addition, a no objection letter (NOC) by the trust has also been given to me, in which the said trust was conducting classes saying that the MP's office will not hamper their classes. I will still have a thorough check on this."

In the midst of this controversy, Jayanagara Shaikshanika Samiti, which was holding free tuition classes for students has said that they do not have any issues on the setting up of the MP’s office at the venue. In fact the president of the Samiti, Dr K Sameera Simha said that the setting up of the MP's office will be a blessing for their activities.

It may be recalled that reports were published in dailies about the setting up of the office by MP Tejasvi Surya at a space in public library saying that would deprive the students of underprivileged class of the opportunity to prepare for the board exams.

A letter on this issue has been written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by local RTI activist Marilinge Gowda Mali Patil. In addition, Patil will also meet J P Nadda, national working president of BJP during his visit to the city on Sunday.
