Mangaluru, Sep 20: As a part of Global Climate Strike, hundreds of protesters, many of them students and youngsters, gathered at Lalbagh in city on Friday, September 20.

Concerned youths from Mangaluru city organized the protest in the unique way while protesters raised slogans to protect environment and shared their views on global warming and necessity of save earth concept.

The protesters demanded the governments and concerned authorities to take urgent steps to tackle the climate crisis and prevent an environmental catastrophe.

Global Climate Strike is an international movement of school students who take time off from class to participate in demonstrations to demand action to prevent further global warming and climate change. Publicity and widespread organising began after Swedish schoolgirl, Greta Thunburg, staged a protest in August 2018 outside the Swedish parliament, holding a sign that read school strike for the climate.

Believe all of them have travelled from home on a Petrol / Diesel powered vehicle to attend this protest......they could have all walked from home to this place to make it a point.....It's not only about Governments contribution but also about ours....... Government has done a very commendable job when it comes to concepts like EVehicles and policy change initiatives.

Most of the protesters here are using products the manufacture of which accelerates global warming.

Real advocates of global warming must use only organic or non-mass-produced products.

    Otherwise it is plain hypocrisy.
