Mangaluru, Sep 9: Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath on Monday, September 9, met the family of the deceased who died after a wall collapsed on a house at Padil on the night of September 8.
The MLA handed over cheques of Rs 5 lac each from the district administration to the family of deceased.
It may be recalled, the incident took place at the rented house owned by Mohini Jaya Shetty. Both the children were studying in their room when the incident happened. The 20-feet wall, surrounding the house, fell on the house and as a result, the children died. Varshini (7) and Vedanth (8) lost their lives.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath also gave an additional Rs one lac from his side to the deceased’s family.
MLC Harish Kumar and tahsildar Guruprasad were also present.
