Mangaluru: BJP government lacks empathy – MLA U T Khader

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 7: Former minister and MLA U T Khader came down heavily on the BJP government, calling it one without empathy.

Addressing media on Saturday, September 7, he said, “The BJP government speaks about closing down Indira canteens, which is a source of food for many. Yediyurappa government is anti-people as they have stopped the distribution of Toor Dal. The Congress government used to provide vitamin rich food for subsidy. How will children from poor families obtain protein rich food?” he questioned.

“Even though the coalition government implemented the loan waiver scheme, it did not stop development schemes. However, people who were victims of natural calamities are still in distress. Than spending crores of rupees for road development, why not spend the same on food?” Khader questioned.

“The BJP government is still not prepared to serve the people. Why is district-in-charge minister not appointed? Why are you making people suffer, due to your internal politics?” Khader questioned the state government.

Speaking over the resignation of former deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, he said, “I will not deny that there was no political conspiracy with regard to former Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil’s resignation. Senthil was upset with regard to his transfer. The Central government is pressurising bureaucrats. After the BJP government took over the central government, many bureaucrats have tendered their resignation. I have spoken to the Karnataka chief secretary to convince the IAS officer to take back his resignation. He can opt to go on a five year leave.”

Over setback to Chandrayaan-2 moon mission, he said, “Chandrayaan-2 reached crucial stage. The ISRO scientists have made the entire nation proud. The Chandrayaan 2 should not be considered as a failure but a stepping stone, which will increase confidence among scientists,” Khader said.
