Bengaluru: Two more deputy chief ministers for Yediyurappa – Reports

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (AM)

Bengaluru, Sep 7: After appointing three deputy chief ministers (DCM) in the state cabinet, chief minister B S Yediyurappa is likely to appoint two more deputy chief ministers, as advised by BJP high command.

According to a report in The Times of India, the posts of DCMs will be given to five major communities in the state. The three DCMs, who have already taken charge after being appointed earlier are Govind Karjol from the Scheduled Caste, Laxman Savadi, a Lingayat, and CN Ashwath Narayan, from the Vokkaliga caste. The two new DCMs will be from Scheduled Tribe and the other from the Kuruba community.

According to inside sources, Yediyurappa will be doing this to keep all major communities happy. It is also gathered that the BJP high command would be looking for a possible successor for Yediyurappa among the five DCMs.

However, the appointment of the new deputy CMs is unlikely to happen before the Supreme Court pronounces a verdict on plea of the 17 disqualified MLAs. If the disqualification is quashed, then the party could reward Ramesh Jarkiholi, with a deputy CM’s post for his efforts to oust the Congress-JD(S) coalition government, says the TOI report.

There are also chances of health minister B Sriramulu and RDPR minister KS Eshwarappa to be made the DCM in the event of the Supreme Court upholding the disqualification.

The central command knows the inefficiency of Yeddurappa Since he does not have a clear mandate of the people .
The center clearly knows the people are with BJP only because of modi and not because of the local leaders.
Hence they want to dilute the powers of yediyurappa and gang .by the next state election things will be in place for the BJP in karanataka .They will set foray into other states of of southindia ..west bengal ..orissa ..

Consider a DCM for every district of the state... that way many more can be DCM.
Or else make all ministers DCM... And get on with job they are supposed to do as Ministers rather than comforting their ego and fussing over titles and portfolio.
