Al-Haramain high-speed train to begin operations in Jeddah from Oct

Jeddah, Aug 15: Al-Haramain high-speed train of Saudi Arabia will be begin its operations from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah from October. The train is said to provide great relief to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. Launched in October 2018, it started operating between holy cities of Makkah-Madina. It is expected to carry 60 million passengers a year.

The kingdom's minister of Transport, Nabil Al Amoudi, made the announcement regarding the new development and stated that, 360,000 Haj pilgrims were transported in 2019.

Al Amoudi also claimed that extensive works were being carried with several government agencies, to assist visitor’s entrance to the kingdom's airports and develop terminals and airports.
