Mangaluru: Scattered rainfall witnessed in parts of district

Mangaluru, May 24: Many parts of Dakshina Kannada district received slight drizzling on Thursday, May 23. Puttur city received good rains in the afternoon of Thursday which brought respite to the people from the simmering heat that has been prevailing for the past one month.

It rained for nearly half an hour in the afternoon at Puttur and many people got drenched due to the sudden and unexpected rain. Many people who ventured out to attend weddings and other occasions also got drenched in the rain. In addition, those who were out to celebrate the victory of Nalin Kumar Kateel in the Lok Sabha elections also went in the procession in the rain itself.

Some parts of the city of Mangaluru received slight drizzle in the morning. However, in the evening the weather was cloudy, which further increased the mercury.

The maximum temperature recorded in the district was 35 degree centigrade and minimum was 25 degree centigrade. According to the weather forecast by the meteorology department, there is a possibility of rain in some parts of the coast in the next 48 hours.

The weather was cloudy in Udupi.
