Mumbai, Jun 30: Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was visibly emotional and proud as he joined fans in celebrating his son Abhishek Bachchan's 25-year journey in the Indian film industry. The silver jubilee milestone was marked with love and admiration by fans who gathered outside the Bachchan residence, Jalsa, holding posters of Abhishek and cheering in his honour.
As part of his regular Sunday ritual, Big B stepped out to greet his fans — but this time, the moment turned more special as chants of “Congratulations to Abhishek sir” echoed through the crowd. One fan was even heard declaring heartfelt admiration for the junior Bachchan.
Amitabh later shared a video compilation of the touching scenes on his Instagram, captioning it simply: “I have no words for this love…”
Earlier, the cinema icon paid a moving tribute to his son on social media, acknowledging Abhishek’s evolution and persistence in the industry. Writing in Hindi, he said:
“Is variety ko maine pranaam karta hoon, aur apne putra ki sarahna karta hoon. Jee haan, pita hoon main uska, aur mere liye mera putra Abhishek sarahna karne yogya hai.”
(“I bow to this versatility and praise my son. Yes, I am his father, and to me, my son Abhishek is worthy of appreciation.”)
This came in response to a fan-made video montage celebrating Abhishek’s unique flair for diverse roles, especially in comedies and character-driven performances. “Here’s to the laughs that never missed,” read the tribute post, which celebrated his unmistakable timing and screen presence.
Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in 2000 with JP Dutta’s Refugee, which also launched Kareena Kapoor. Over the years, he carved a space for himself with a mix of intense roles (Yuva, Guru), commercial hits (Dhoom series), and critically acclaimed comedies (Bunty Aur Babli, Dasvi, Manmarziyaan).
He is now gearing up for the release of Madhumita’s upcoming film Kaalidhar Laapata, set to premiere on ZEE5 on July 4.
As fans and the film fraternity shower Abhishek with praise, the proud father continues to cheer for his son with quiet pride and open admiration.
